Quickstart fertilizers have been developed specifically for seed nutrition of small-seeded crops. Where larger seeds, tuberous or bulbous crops carry their nutrition with them, small-seeded crops carry little nutrition and in order for them to grow they need to extract large quantities of minerals from the soil relatively quickly after germination. This means that the soil surrounding a small seed needs to contain a lot of absorbable nutrients. Phosphate is particularly important right after germination for sufficient root growth. We know that having phosphate close to the root is imperative. Quickstart fertilizers have been specifically formulated for placement as close to the seed as possible without delaying germination.
Using Quickstart will make the seeds germinate better and more evenly. During sowing the liquid is sprayed directly onto the seed before it is covered with soil. These small quantities of liquid can be applied by using special equipment.
